Dr. Cokorde Yuliandari Represents Indonesia in JGES STARS 2026 Program in Japan
Jakarta, May 12, 2026 – The Indonesian Society for Digestive Endoscopy (ISDE) continues to demonstrate its commitment to supporting the professional development and international networking of its members through active participation in international education and training programs.

This year, dr. Cokorde Istri Yuliandari Krisnawardani K, M.Biomed., SpPD, FINASIM from Udayana University Hospital and the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University was selected to participate in The Japan Gastroenterological Endoscopy Society Supports Training of Asian Rising Stars (JGES STARS) 2026. The grant program, organized by the Japan Gastroenterological Endoscopy Society (JGES), was attended by delegates from several Asian countries, including Indonesia, Vietnam, Mongolia, the Philippines, and Cambodia. Her participation was supported through a recommendation from the Executive Board of the Indonesian Society for Digestive Endoscopy (ISDE) and an endorsement from the Division of Gastroenterology, Pancreatobiliary, and Digestive Endoscopy, Department of Internal Medicine, FKUI/RSCM.
The JGES STARS 2026 program began with gastrointestinal endoscopy training at Toyama University Hospital, Toyama, Japan, from April 20 to May 1, 2026, under the supervision of Prof. Ichiro Yasuda. During the training, participants observed various advanced gastrointestinal endoscopy procedures, particularly ERCP, EUS, double-balloon enteroscopy, ENPD/ENBD placement, FCSEMS/PCSEMS/UCSEMS placement, and push-type PEG procedures. The program also included case discussions and direct clinical learning with the endoscopy team at the institution.
Following the training, dr. Cokorde attended the 111th JGES Congress held on May 8–10, 2026, in Yokohama, Japan. During the scientific meeting, she also attended the Faculty Party JGES on May 8, 2026, at the InterContinental Yokohama Hotel as part of efforts to strengthen professional networking and international collaboration in the field of gastrointestinal endoscopy.

At the congress, dr. Cokorde also participated and delivered a presentation entitled “The Current State of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy in Indonesia” on May 10, 2026. The presentation highlighted the current development of gastrointestinal endoscopy services in Indonesia, the challenges faced, and future opportunities for competency and technological advancement in the field.
The participation of the Indonesian delegate in the JGES STARS 2026 program is expected to further strengthen international collaboration, enhance human resource competencies in gastrointestinal endoscopy, and open broader opportunities for the advancement of endoscopy education and services in Indonesia.
