Young ISDE Leadership Camp 2025 Successfully Held in Jakarta
The Indonesian Society for Digestive Endoscopy (ISDE) successfully organized the Young ISDE Leadership Camp 2025 on 1–2 November 2025 at Pan Pacific Hotel Jakarta. The event brought together 37 Young ISDE members from various regions across Indonesia. This program aimed to strengthen leadership capacity, enhance national networking, and elevate the competency of young endoscopists in navigating developments in modern gastrointestinal endoscopy.
Young ISDE serves as ISDE’s official working group for early-career physicians with a special interest in gastrointestinal endoscopy. Currently, Young ISDE consists of 65 young physicians, nominated by ISDE branch leaders from across the country. Through this initiative, ISDE continues to support equal opportunities for talent development in endoscopy nationwide.
The two-day program was curated to build character, communication, and collaboration skills. The agenda opened with a profiling session facilitated by Talentbox Indonesia, featuring ice-breaking activities, Color Card Game, Jungian Preferences introduction, Walking the Wheel, and effective communication training. These sessions guided participants in exploring personal strengths, communication styles, and individual roles within a team.

In the evening, participants joined the Young ISDE Brief Deck Session, led by Nikko Darnindro, MD and moderated by Rabbinu Rangga Pribadi, MD. Senior panelists Fauzi Yusuf, MD, PhD, FACG, FACP and Hery Djagat Purnomo, MD, PhD as Young ISDE advisors, also attended the session. Division coordinators presented their upcoming strategic programs, including:
- Leadership & Professionalism – Apriliana Adhyaksari, MD
- Networking & Collaboration – Cecilia Oktaria, MD
- Research & Development – Darmadi, MD, PhD
The session was marked by active discussions, with participants sharing experiences and challenges from their respective regions. Senior panelists provided insights on strengthening networks, organizational capacity, and human-resource development in endoscopy. The first day concluded with a prize session and a fellowship dinner.

The second day featured “Warm Tea, Bright Plans: A Casual Financial Talk,” offering practical insights on financial planning and investment for early-career physicians — supporting participants’ long-term career readiness and professional growth.

With a collaborative and inspiring atmosphere, the Young ISDE Leadership Camp 2025 served as a key platform for preparing Indonesia’s next generation of endoscopy leaders who are adaptive, visionary, and ready to contribute to the advancement of GI endoscopy at national and global levels. The event is expected to become an annual flagship program as part of PEGI’s commitment to nurturing future leaders in gastrointestinal endoscopy.
