Vegetables Lowering the Risk of Colon Cancer
One way to avoid colon cancer is to change your lifestyle to be healthier. This can be started by eating vegetables that are good for digestion. These vegetables can help smooth bowel movements because they are rich in insoluble fiber which will attract useless substances that have the potential to cause inflammation of the intestines. This inflammation can lead to polyps and eventually cancer. Therefore, the consumption of vegetables can reduce the potential for developing cancer.
So what vegetables can reduce the risk of colon cancer?
Consultant gastroentero-hepatology and chairman of PB PEGI, Prof. Dr. dr. Ari Fahrial Syam, MMB, SpPD, K-GEH, FACP, FACG, FINASIM said that any vegetable, as long as it is not a vegetable that triggers gastrointestinal diseases such as cabbage and mustard greens, can be consumed as lowering risk of colon cancer. Examples of these vegetables are spinach, kale, cassava leaves, beans, and nuts.
So, don’t forget to add vegetables to your diet!
Healthy Greetings.
