Stay Healthy During Eid al-Fit

Eid al-Fitr 1446 H is just around the corner. After a month of fasting, Muslims will celebrate this joyous occasion as a moment of victory. Gathering with family, visiting relatives, and enjoying traditional Eid dishes are integral parts of the celebration.

However, the sudden change in eating patterns after Ramadan can impact health. Therefore, it is important to maintain balance to stay healthy during and after Eid.

In an article published by Liputan6 titled “Happy Eid al-Fitr 2025: Greetings, Meaning, and How to Stay Healthy During Eid,” Prof. Ari Fahrial Syam, a Consultant in Gastroenterohepatology, shares several health tips that can be applied during Eid:

1. Choose healthy foods and avoid excessive calorie intake. Eat in moderation to prevent drastic weight gain.

2. Limit consumption of fatty and coconut milk-based dishes. Delicacies like chicken opor and rendang should be enjoyed in reasonable portions to avoid digestive issues.

3. Avoid high-fat and sugary snacks. Cookies and sweet beverages are tempting, but excessive consumption can raise blood sugar levels.

4. Ensure adequate water intake to stay hydrated. After a month of fasting, the body needs sufficient fluids to maintain metabolic balance.

5. Eat enough fruits and vegetables. Fiber from fruits and vegetables aids digestion and boosts the immune system.

6. Stay active. Light activities such as walking after meals can support digestion and maintain overall fitness.

In addition to maintaining a balanced diet, other factors should also be considered. According to an article published by the Indonesian Ministry of Health on kemenkes.go.id, health during Eid is also influenced by the following factors:

– Sufficient sleep. Ideally, 7–8 hours of sleep per night helps keep the body fresh and energized during the celebration.

– Managing stress effectively. Preparing for Eid can be exhausting, so it is important to stay relaxed and enjoy the moments of togetherness.

– Maintaining personal hygiene. Washing hands before eating and keeping food clean can help prevent health issues.

Staying healthy during Eid does not mean reducing the joy of celebrating it. With a balanced diet and an active lifestyle, the body will remain fit throughout the festivities.

May this Eid bring happiness and blessings to all of us. Happy Eid al-Fitr, and may you forgive and be forgiven.
