JIGES-LD 2026 in Collaboration with IDEN Indonesia Chapter Held Successfully in Jakarta

Jakarta, 18 February 2026 — The Jakarta International Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Symposium & Live Demonstration (JIGES-LD) 2026, held in conjunction with the International Digestive Endoscopy Network (IDEN) Indonesia Chapter, concluded successfully on 11–14 February 2026 at the Shangri-La Hotel Jakarta. This international scientific meeting in gastrointestinal endoscopy brought together hundreds of gastroenterology consultants and endoscopy practitioners from across Indonesia and overseas.
As an annual scientific forum in gastrointestinal endoscopy, JIGES-LD 2026 featured a comprehensive program comprising scientific symposia, live demonstrations, and hands-on workshops, focusing on the latest advances in endoscopic diagnosis and therapy of gastrointestinal diseases. This year’s meeting held particular significance as it marked the first joint meeting between the Indonesian Society for Digestive Endoscopy (ISDE) and the International Digestive Endoscopy Network (IDEN) Korea, reflecting a shared commitment to strengthening professional networks and advancing endoscopic knowledge exchange at both regional and international levels.
A total of 338 participants attended the main symposium, while the parallel workshops also drew strong participation: the Management of Anorectal Disease and Hands-on Anoscopy Workshop (50 participants), the Simulation-Based Mastery Learning on GI Bleeding Endoscopy Workshop (62 participants), the Endoscopic Nutritional Access and Intragastric Balloon Workshop (45 participants), and the Advanced Pancreatobiliary Interventional Endoscopy Workshop (37 participants). The live demonstration sessions further showcased advanced endoscopic procedures performed by leading international and national experts.

On 12 February 2026, the Young ISDE Scientific Session brought together young endoscopists from across Indonesia. The session served as an interactive platform for emerging ISDE members to exchange ideas, share experiences, and foster scientific and leadership development in gastrointestinal endoscopy. Embracing the spirit of “Shaping the Leader, Not by Chance,” this initiative underscores ISDE’s commitment to systematically nurturing the next generation of Indonesian endoscopists.
JIGES-LD 2026 welcomed distinguished international faculty from South Korea, Japan, Singapore, India, Malaysia, and the United States, who joined Indonesian experts in sharing clinical experience, emerging technologies, and evolving approaches in gastrointestinal disease management. The exchange of knowledge and interactive discussions throughout the meeting provided valuable learning opportunities for participants.
The Chairman of JIGES-LD 2026 and President of the Indonesian Society for Digestive Endoscopy (ISDE), Achmad Fauzi, MD, PhD, FINASIM, emphasized that the collaboration with IDEN represents a strategic step toward strengthening international partnerships and enhancing the quality of endoscopic practice in Indonesia. Through its clinically oriented and comprehensive scientific program, the meeting is expected to contribute to continuous improvement in endoscopic competency and gastrointestinal patient care.
The successful organization of JIGES-LD 2026 underscores the active role of the Indonesian endoscopy community in advancing gastrointestinal endoscopy science and technology at the global level. The Indonesian Society for Digestive Endoscopy (ISDE) expresses its sincere appreciation to all faculty members, participants, industry partners, and the organizing committee for their contributions to the success of this meeting. ISDE looks forward to continuing international scientific collaborations such as JIGES-LD to further strengthen gastrointestinal endoscopy services in Indonesia.
