ISDE Delegation Attends IDEN 2025

The Indonesian Society for Digestive Endoscopy (ISDE) delegation attended the International Digestive Endoscopy Network (IDEN) 2025 Conference held in Seoul, South Korea, on June 13–14, 2025. The delegation’s participation focused on three main objectives Receiving the IDEN/Korean Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Research Foundation (IDEN/KGERF) Research Grant, Attending a strategic meeting with representatives from IDEN and the Thai Association for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (TAGE), and Meeting with young ISDE members and fellow Indonesian participants at the conference.

The ISDE delegation consisted of:

– Dr. Ahmad Fariz Malvi Zamzam Zein, SpPD, FACP – Member of the Research Team
– Dr. Muhammad Faisal Prananda, SpPD – Member of the Research Team

As the president of ISDE and representative of ISDE research team, Dr. Achmad Fauzi received the IDEN/KGERF research grant from Prof. Jong Jae Park, the president of IDEN for their proposal titled:“Adenoma Detection Rate and Post-Colonoscopy Colorectal Cancer in iFOBT-Based Screening: A Multicenter Study in Indonesia”. This study is expected to serve as an important milestone in advancing evidence-based colorectal cancer screening in Indonesia and in strengthening the national dataset to support future public health policies.

In addition to receiving the research grant, Dr. Achmad Fauzi was also invited to serve as a moderator during the live demonstration sessions of the IDEN 2025 Conference—a recognition of Indonesia’s active contributions to the global endoscopy community.

During the strategic trilateral meeting with IDEN and TAGE leadership, the ISDE delegation discussed preparations for the upcoming Jakarta International Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Symposium and Live Demonstration (JIGES-LD) 2026, which will be held in conjunction with the IDEN Indonesia Chapter on February 10–14, 2026 in Jakarta. This symposium aims to be a platform for scientific exchange, endoscopy skill training, and expanded professional collaboration across the Asia-Pacific region.

Amid the IDEN 2025 Conference activities, the Indonesian delegation also had the opportunity to meet and engage in warm discussions with young ISDE members and other Indonesian participants in attendance. This gathering was a meaningful moment—fostering camaraderie, sharing experiences, and inspiring continued development in the field of gastrointestinal endoscopy.

ISDE’s active involvement in this international forum reflects the society’s ongoing commitment to advancing research, education, and clinical practice in digestive endoscopy for the betterment of public health in Indonesia.
