Ideal Time Limit for Delaying Food
Generally, when busy with their work and activities, someone will ignore or delay their eating and drinking needs. The habit of holding back hunger can apparently cause the body to limp and stomach pain due to increased stomach acid, and emotionally increased, you know!
In order to avoid this, we need to pay attention to the maximum time limit for not eating and the rules as stated by the gastrointestinal consultant RSCM / FK UI, Prof. Dr. Dr. Ari Fahrial Syam, SpPD, K-GEH, MMB, FACP, FINASIM (@dokterari). Ideally, holding meals is done 6 to 8 hours. While holding back the meal, try to have a piece of sweet cake as calorie intake, and drink water. Do not let the 6 hours completely empty. Because delaying the intake of food and drink can cause dehydration, and decreased blood sugar which leads to dizziness, excessive emotions, and irritability. The habit of holding back hunger can also cause functional ulcers.
Unlike organic ulcers caused by cuts in the stomach due to germs, drugs, or stress, functional ulcers occur due to irregular eating patterns. For example, when it is busy, lunch at 10 pm, then tomorrow, because there is no work, lunch at 12 hours. Sometimes the stomach is filled every 6 hours, sometimes 12 hours. This irregularity causes the stomach to be uncomfortable.
Greetings healthy.
