Frequently Consume Heated Rice? Beware of Dangerous!

Rice is the main food for Indonesians. Even there is a proverb that said “you are not eat yet until eating rice”. According to one of the Internal Medicine Specialists in RSCM / FK UI, Prof. Ari Fahrial Syam, MD, PhD, MMB, FACP, a leftover rice which is reheated in magic com could containing bad cholesterol and having high calories, so it can increase the risk of high blood pressure and heart disease. In addition, nutritionist Jansen Ongko, MSc, RD, said that rice which has been heated for more than 12 hours is dangerous for diabetics. The rice contains higher GI (glycemic index) and will make diabetic’s blood sugar levels rise dramatically.

Prof. Ari is also stated that actually the feasibility of rice can be determined through the smell, texture, and color of rice.
